ApexBets is operated by Letsbet (Pty) Ltd, a South African company registered at 33 Beach Road, Gordon’s Bay, Western Cape, and it holds WCGRB bookmaker licence number 10194002-001, issued on 1 December 2024.

The platform went live in late 2025, which makes it one of the newer licensed South African casinos.

Here’s what I found when I started investigating the site:

When I first looked at ApexBets, I felt it was clean, modern, and uncluttered. The navigation is well laid out, with links at the very top of the site to the casino, live casino, sports, live sports and the promotions page.

As with most other South African sportsbooks and casinos, you will need to register before you can see all the games. That’s a bit painful as you are kind of going in blind. That said, the site provides enough information up front about game software providers, game categories, and bonus details to give you a reasonable idea of what you’re signing up for.

Looking at the signup process, registration at ApexBets is uncomplicated and requires a South African ID number and cellphone number. Full FICA verification is required before your first withdrawal. A few things worth knowing before you get excited, though. Each tier has a wagering requirement of 30x, which is average, but that is only based on your bonus, not the deposit, too, so it makes it more favourable than most online casinos that include the wagering requirement on your deposit as well.

You must meet the wagering requirements of each tier within 7 days, and the maximum cashout from the bonus winnings is R15,000 overall. Crash games, roulette, and virtual games do not contribute towards the wagering requirements.

I could not find any welcome bonus on offer for the sports section, which was rather weird, as most operators offer a casino and sports bonus.

Talking about the sportsbook, I found 25 different sports you can bet on.  PSL, URC, Currie Cup, SA20, Springboks, and Proteas are some of the sports available. There is also some international football coverage of the major European leagues, as well as other sports such as chess, darts, badminton, and bandy.

The 2 things I didn’t like were that there is no cash-out option, so once a bet is placed, it runs to the end, and there’s no accumulator insurance. Horse racing is also unavailable, which seems to be common at most South African sportsbooks.

When I had a look at the casino lobby, the 700+ game selection from 14 providers is one of the stronger lineups I’ve seen on a newer SA platform. The provider roster includes Pragmatic Play, Evolution, NetEnt, Habanero, Nolimit City, Big Time Gaming, Red Tiger, Spribe, and several others.

On their site, they state that Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay are listed as coming soon, so those will be additional options to use.

The minimum deposit is R50, but if you claim a welcome bonus, then you will need to make a minimum deposit of R100.

What I liked is that during business hours, they say they process withdrawals within 12 hours, as long as your account is FICA-verified. However, when I read through a few other review sites, they mentioned that in some cases withdrawals took between 24 and 72 hours.  Unfortunately, when I tested the site, I didn’t win any money, so I couldn’t request a withdrawal to see whether their 12-hour claim is accurate. Payouts are returned to your original deposit method, and FICA must be in place first.

On their Contact Us page, they list email, live chat, and telephone as contact methods. I decided to test their telephone and phoned them at 11 am, but got no response. It kept going to voicemail. I tried 3 times and eventually left a voice message for them to call me back. I am still waiting for the callback 10 hours later! Not very impressed.

I then tried their live chat, but it asked me to enter my full name, email address, and phone number, which I wasn’t comfortable doing, since I hadn’t yet decided whether I was going to sign up with them.

Customer support only works until 11 pm, so if you want any help after that, the only option is email, which will probably be answered the following morning.

The 7-day bonus expiry per tier also demands some planning, as this isn’t a welcome offer you can dip into casually and expect to clear without committing properly.

For casino players and football fans who like Bet Builder, ApexBets is a good option, but for sportsbook-focused punters who rely on early cash-out or want to bet on the horses, you may find other licensed SA platforms suit you better for now.
