The Goonies Quest for Treasure 2 Slot Review & Demo Game
The Goonies Quest for Treasure 2 (Blueprint Gaming) is the studio’s latest trip down to the cave with Sloth, Mikey and the gang, and proof that Blueprint will keep mining the 80s vault for as long as the film licences hold out. It follows The Goonies, The Goonies Hey You Guys and the Megaways version, so this lot have clocked up serious slot mileage by now. If you grew up quoting “Hey, you guys” at the telly, the nostalgia hook lands. If you didn’t, it’s a 6-reel, 4-row, 4,096-ways money collect slot with a trail of unlockable features, and that’s the part that actually matters once the reels start turning.
The Goonies Quest for Treasure 2 Game Details
The setting is a spooky cavern, with a treasure map strung above the grid, three chests down the left for the bonus modes and a dancing lamp on the right doing the atmosphere work. Wins come the usual way: three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the left. It runs on mobile, tablet, and desktop, and there’s a free demo if you want to take a look before putting any money down.
Slot Game Features
This is where the game earns its keep, because a lot is bolted on.
Symbols and Wilds
Low payers are the card ranks: 9, 10, J, Q, K and A, paying 1x to 1.5x for a full six-of-a-kind. The high payers are the cast, Data, Stef, Mikey and Sloth, plus the skull flag, paying 2x to 5x for six. So the base pay is modest, and the real money lies in the cash collection mechanics. The Wild stands in for everything except the Collect, Cash Prize, Treasure Wheel and Scatter symbols, and it only lands on reels 2 to 6.

Hey You Guys Modifiers
Sloth can turn up on any spin and fire off one of five random modifiers, which keeps the base game from going flat:
- Hidden Treasure adds Cash Prize symbols to the reels.
- Bonus Boost drops in extra scatters
- Dynamite Blast upgrades random symbols to top symbols or Wilds (base game only)
- Cave In clears symbols and cascades new ones in with a guaranteed win
- Collect Boost upgrades any Collect symbol on screen before it pays

Money Collect and the Trail
This is the core game feature of The Goonies Quest for Treasure 2. The “Cash Prize” symbols carry values, and when a Collect symbol lands on reel 1 or reel 6 with cash on the grid, it expands across its reel and sweeps up every visible value. That seems simple enough, but the twist is that every Collect you land also moves you along a trail above the reels, and each milestone permanently switches on a new feature for the rest of your session:
- 2 Collects: Cascade Collect (cash and Collect symbols stay while the rest clear and cascade)
- 5 Collects: Mystery Symbol
- 8 Collects: Boost Collect (cash values lifted 1x to 5x)
- 11 Collects: Treasure Wheel
- 14 Collects: X-Collect (all on-screen cash awarded up to 5 times)
- 17 Collects: One Eyed Willy Spins
- 20 Collects: Power Play
You can see the catch. Twenty Collects is a long, old grind, and plenty of players will never get near the top of that trail in a normal session.
Treasure Spins
Three or more chest scatters trigger this for 10 free spins. One or two scatters can still set it off, and four, five or six also pay 20x, 100x or 500x on top. The chest colours decide the rules: Red (Collect Expand) makes the Collect symbol four rows tall, Blue (Reel Attack) limits the reels to Collect and Cash Prize symbols only, and Green (Trail Boost) bumps the multipliers to 3x, 4x, 8x and 20x. They stack if more than one chest is live. Collect three Collects to bag five more spins, up to four times, with the win multiplier climbing 2x, 3x, 5x and finally 10x.
One Eyed Willy Spins
Unlocked at the far end of the trail, this uses the same 10-spin structure as Treasure Spins, except instead of a rising multiplier, it floods the reels with extra Cash Prize symbols, adding 20, 30, 50, then 100 of them as you hit Collect milestones. It is the one genuinely new thing this sequel brings over the older Megaways version.
Power Play
The Power Play feature buy will cost you 5x your current betting stake. It strips the reels back to Cash Prize, Collect, and Bonus Scatter symbols, with any trail features you have already unlocked still running. It is not a full bonus buy; it is more of a targeted push in the base game.

My Verdict
There is no faulting the amount of features packed into The Goonies Quest for Treasure 2. The Sloth modifiers stop the base game from stagnating, the money-collect loop is satisfying in that watch-the-coins-pile-up way, and the split between multiplier-led Treasure Spins and cash-stuffed One Eyed Willy Spins gives the two bonuses a bit of their own character. For a Goonies fan, it does the nostalgia job and then some.
The problem is the cost of enjoying all that. The 95% RTP is a point light; the full trail asks for twenty Collects before everything is switched on, and once you have played the older Goonies Megaways Quest for Riches, you will notice how little has actually changed beyond the One Eyed Willy mode. It is a feature-heavy slot that plays well. It just isn’t doing much that its predecessor wasn’t already doing, and that 95% is hard to look past.
