BetGames has released Citrus Splash Deluxe, a follow-up to Citrus Splash, the studio’s first slot. The sequel keeps the fruit theme but moves it into a cocktail bar, adds new characters and animations, and reworks the free spins round with expanding wilds.
The visual refresh is the most obvious change. Where the original leaned on a fairly standard fruit machine look, the sequel builds its backdrop around a bar scene, complete with a bartender who reacts when things go well. It is a cosmetic upgrade rather than a mechanical one, but it does give the sequel its own identity instead of recycling the first game’s artwork.
Free Spins and Expanding Wilds
Scatters on reels one, three and five trigger seven free spins. During the feature, any wild that lands in a winning combination expands to fill its reel, which is where most of the added payout potential in the sequel comes from. It is a familiar mechanic across the slot market, though it does more work here than the base game’s wilds do.
The Hold and Win Round
The Hold and Win bonus carries over from BetGames’ wider slot range. Five or more coins landing anywhere on the grid starts the round with three respins, and every new coin resets the counter back to three.
Coins hold cash and jackpot values up to 100x, and everything on screen is paid out when the respins run out. Filling all 15 positions on the 5×3 grid pays the Ultra Jackpot at 10,000x, which is the game’s maximum win. That is a rare outcome in any Hold and Win title, so it is worth reading the 10,000x figure as a ceiling rather than an expectation.
Bonus Buys and Gamble Options
Both bonus rounds can be bought directly. Whether that is a plus depends on how you play, and buy features remain restricted or unavailable at some regulated sites.
There are also two gamble options. The card gamble asks you to call the colour of a face-down card to double a win, or the suit to quadruple it. The ladder gamble moves you up and down rungs, with the risk of dropping back down as you climb.
Why BetGames Is Building on the Franchise
The sequel fits a pattern across the supplier market, where studios are leaning on recognisable titles rather than launching unfamiliar ones into crowded lobbies. Ian Catchick, Chief Product and Business Development Officer at BetGames, framed it as players “gravitating towards game brands that they know and trust”, and said the sequel is meant to give returning players a genuine step forward rather than a reskin.
BetGames only entered the slot space recently, so its catalogue of proven IP is still small. Whether Citrus Splash Deluxe lands with players will say a fair amount about how far that strategy can carry the studio.
Availability at South African facing sites will come down to individual operator rollouts, so check your casino’s new releases section.
